These shears are great for dead heading flowers.You simply clip the dead flower and the tool keeps a grip on the stem of the cut flower.Hold it over your reusable shopping bag and release the spent flower into the bag and repeat.You can get a rhythm going and make short order of the dead heading job.They also make excellent shears for cutting roses since you are able to cut the flowers without touching the thorns.Especially long stemmed roses with heavy heads can become too much for these small shears; it's just physics.However, you can manage that by supporting the underside of the rose head as you pull the flower away from the bush.I've used these shears for years.There are nearly 100 rose bushes on this property.This price is a bargain!
