After cleaning crayon out of the dryer and having ruined clothes for the umpteenth time, my wife banned crayons from the house. My son was disappointed, but that was the law. Then he saw a caricature artist use these. He had to have them! Well, I broke down and got him a set.That was 2 years ago. They last forever! They've far outlasted brushes and paints and markers and colored pens and pencils. And the quality of the drawings is far superior to that of any crayon. You can blend and shade colors. The value is tremendous. For kids, don't get colored pencils -- they get sharpened down in no time flat.
I'm pretty sure these would be fine in a dryer, because when a couple broke I tried to melt them together again, without success. But the kids keep them out of their pockets and out of the laundry. Maybe it's because they come in a nice box or maybe it's because they do not have a wrapper. In any case, none have been lost, which seems like a small miracle.
