I am an undiagnosed Aspie. Before I knew this, during times a stress for example finals week I would wrap a full size mala around my wrist about three times and when I couldn't stand my anxiety anymore I would unwrap the mala and touch each bead and rotate the mala in a motion like one might use when reciting a rosary. My full size mala is too obvious but this one is subtle. I say it is socially acceptable because I see others wearing similar wrist malas as a fashion statement. I use the wrist mala alot without even realizing it in the same way as I did my full size mala--so much so the elastic is growing thin in one section. I will be purchasing others from the site soon--before it breaks. I would not like to be without this subtle and 'socially acceptable' stimming device.
