Franciscan Desert Rose Flora Large Canister Review

Well I've gone thru three shipments for this thing so far and while the canister itself is seemingly beautiful I can't really tell because it keeps arriving either in pieces or cracked.

The original manufacturer's box is very thin single wall cardboard.It would help greatly if the Amazon shipping department folks wrapped the original manufacturers box in a couple layers of bubblewrap before chucking it into the corner of a huge Amazon box with those big air packets that don't do diddly squat to keep fragile things safe.

A little common sense in the shipping department would rectify the breakage of fragile items quickly.Here's hoping that round 4 they actually read my email suggesting bubblewrap first so I can get this thing in time for mother's day.Sheesh!

Roses - 18 Assorted Rose Flowers with Vase Review

I live in Australia and ordered these flowers for my Mother who lives in Southern Indiana.The people ar ProFlowers kept me informed of the procress of my order and when I said that she bowled on Thursday morning they even called her to advise her the order was coming...Later they called her back to state that they had forgotten to enclose the card (greetings) that I had left told her they were sorry and then read the message to her.
My Mom was thrilled with the flowers, the way in which they were packed, shipped and the way in which they were presented even with instructions on how to care for them and to make them last longer.

I purchased this dish as a gift for my wife, thinking that it would be a decent sized round vegetable dish.It is not.Although you cannot tell it from the description and there is no picture on the "product description" page, this bowl is actually what I would call an oval vegetable dish, which is somewhat smaller than the a round vegetable dish.

The quality of the china is fine and it arrived undamaged, although later than I was orignally told.I would give the china 5 stars as an oval vegetable dish and the description 2 stars for being far too vague.

Desert Rose 10 Seeds - Adenium obesum Review

I bought seeds and not one came up. If seed is old germination rate goes down. I have plants from seed purchased from seedtrack and 90% took. I contacted Hirt's and nothing was done. I was sent a list of questions as to how I planted,water type, temp and light. I responded correctly. I have 40 years experience and do not make mistakes. I research thoroughly.
All I asked was that he replace the seeds and after answering his questions he never got back to me. Also purchased pachypodium seeds. Instruction for planting was incorrect. I have not seen one of these come up either. I will never deal with this person again. Beware!!!

This is NOT bone china!!It does not even say fine china(per stamp on bottom).The piece has a very grey cast to the body instead of the lovely white of bone china, does not ring, and seems thick and clunky, not at all what this pattern in bone china is like.I know it says bone china in the description, but it is not.The order process went fine, received it, well packed, even in a box.It is not the beautiful red rose damask box, but the rose colored rough cardboard box and the product is not as advertised. Very disappointed.

Martex 100% Egyptian Cotton Loops Towels Review

I got these on a 2 pack special for $7.99 but I have seen the 2 pack (Bath Towel + Hand Towel) for as much as $9.99 on Amazon. I guess I was expecting a $15 towel, but these are worth what I paid for them. There is nothing extra special about these towels, they are the standard bath size with medium thickness and absorption. I only got a couple of fuzzies after washing and drying. The amount of lint in the dryer lint filter was not abnormal. Some reviewers have stated that the hand towels and bath towels were dyed slightly differently, but in my case, the French Blue towels were identical in shade for both sizes. These are great for everyday use, I like them and I'm glad I purchased them, but just keep in mind that you get what you pay for and if you are looking for an impressive or luxury towel, you might want to look elsewhere.

The Tudor Rose Chimes from Woodstock Percussion are a great addition to any outdoor decor.As soon as you unpack them from the box, you'll be impressed with their appearance - the wood is a beautifully natural cherry and the chimes themselves are a deep reddish bronze.Each piece of the set feels very sturdy as well.

But it doesn't really show off until you hear it.The sound is astounding full, especially given its compact size.The eight different tones come together to make a peaceful stream of sound rather than the dissonant clang-clang-clang of lesser chimes.I had read about the meticulous tuning process in the product description but figured that a chime was a chime - these proved me wrong within a few minutes of hanging them.

There's certainly nothing glamourous about a plastic curtain, but with a 55 year old house with a wood window in the shower, it is an unfortunate necessity!My pair of "clear frosted" panels came with only one usable panel, which, as I will explain, ended up working out fine.One panel was not completely sewed/sealed together at the rod pocket.I would have sent it back, but I actually hated the way using the two plastic panels to try and give a scrunched "curtain" look ended up looking, and I ended up just using one panel (which fortunatley was just the right size to fully cover the width of the window and stretched perfectly across the length of the curtain rod).The plastic is a good weight for this purpose....not too stiff, but substantial enough to hang well.Don't think I would ever have any use for that extra panel except as a drop cloth, so I could find no value in taking the time to exchange it.So all is well and the tacky plastic curtain is doing it's job!

The only wax paper I have ever used has been the type on a roll.These wax paper squares seem slightly thinner than the roll paper, but they are still sturdy and should do their job well.My complaint is that, unlike the photo above, the paper did not come in a marked box with a dispenser opening.It came wrapped in plain, white paper (like butcher's paper) so that will make it slightly more difficult to store and use.I'm going to try putting it in a plastic sandwich container just to make sure it stays clean, dry and organized.

As the description states, there are holes on two corners so that the paper can be used on a spindle.So I guess they expected that everyone would hang the entire bundle of paper from a spindle and a box wasn't necessary.Bummer.

Bayer 502570B 24-Ounce Ready-to-Use Dual Action Rose and Flower Insect Killer Review

I used this product last year; it kills or repels Japanese Beetles on contact and has residual effects which help, easy to use.The problem is that if you spray any plants that are blooming that attract bees (most all do), it can/will kill or harm them up to several days later, saw it with my own eyes on a rose bloom I had previously sprayed 4 days later and after a rain.We have no honeybees, and other pollinators are taking up the slack, notably bumblebees and yellow jackets.This year, I cut off all the buds and blooms of my roses, so am using this product along with Sevin (on larger plants that aren't currently blooming) to keep them from devouring the foliage.I believe if you take care not to spray when bees are present and spray only plants that are not blooming OR remove the sprayed bloom immediately afterward, the bees will be all right.Also if there are blooming plants near where you spray, it would be better to cover or shield them with plastic temporarily until there's no danger of mist drifting.I don't see bees going for any plant that doesn't have blooms.I'm still using the soapy water on plants I don't want to cut the blooms off and am ready to treat the lawn for grubs.

I bought the little forks to use for dessert during a tea party - I have beautiful dessert forks for use with a silver tea set but wanted something to go with a tea set gilded in 24 carat gold.I have not used it yet but bought it with the demitasse spoon set and noticed that the forks, while small enough, are bigger than the spoons.Oh well.I don't mind.I liked how the gold plating didn't look as if it would touch tea/coffee when placed in a teacup, but now that I see it in person, I think it might, so I worry that the plating may come off.Also, the gold is not as bright as I thought it would be - at first, I was dissapointed, but now I have gotten used to the look so feel OK about it b/c they now have a look of understated elegance.Very beautiful!

Rose Tree Royal Linen Set of 6 Placemat Review

This set of Rose Tree placemats are some of the nicest that I have seen in a very long time. I got my set in Cinnabar. (By the way, at the time of this review Amazon is stating that my color is on a 1-3 month back-order, however if you're interested in it I say place your order because it's been my experience that Amazon is very quick and is constantly moving and changing inventory.) The color is so rich and vibrant. It has a very contemporary design that's also very versatile because I could use them during the autumn and even well into Christmastime. These are a 50/50 poly-cotton blend and machine washable (on a very delicate setting). Another wonderful selling feature is the fact that these are proudly made in the USA. I can't say how happy I was to see that sticker "made in the USA: It Matters!" on the outside of the packaging. It sure does matter. I recommend this set to anyone who is looking to add a spot of brightness and a splash of color to their place settings.

I own a considerable amount of Fiesta.I originally purchased it 3 years ago because I wanted durable dishes that could be added to and allow for creativity.I love all the colors and Fiesta has been around since the 1930's so I know I won't have any problems with replacement should any ever actually break.All vitrified china has factory flaws.Fiesta does not allow its first quality pieces to have more than 12 flaws.There are seconds on e-bay.Purchases made on e-bay should be made with caution because many of these piece are second quality sold as firsts.I learned the hard way.If you want china for everyday use that can be added to or easily replaced than I strongly encourage you to buy Fiesta.If you change your dishware frequently then you might want to buy something cheaper that isn't meant to last.

Royal Albert Old Country Roses Salad Plate Review

I ordered four of these plates and they arrived in a large box with four smaller boxes in it, containing one plate each.

I was a bit disappointed as one of the plate was made in Indonesia (the other three were made in England). You can tell the differences: the colors of the roses are less vibrant (especially the red color of the roses is darker and dull) and the gilding at the periphery seems to be of lessor, uneven quality. I did a blind test to my friend and that one plate was easily picked up among four as inferior. However, I must add that the one from Indonesia is still beautiful.

My initial impression of the other three plates are very positive. The colors are deliciously lively, and the glaze has delicate translucency.

As the Amazon description didn't say anything about the country of origin, and I bought it with the 4-for-3 promotion, which is an additional 25% discount on an already marked down price, I'm overall happy with the products. I just hope that the Indonesian plate, as well as the others, retains its initial beauty for long time.

I would have wanted to know where this product was made.It was shipped from Barron's and was made in China.
I purchased it as a gift and later found that the recipient wanted the American-made model.I had no idea that there were different models - England, USA, and China.

Because of reports of lead contamination I don't think my friend would keep the Chinese model, which means that in addition to the $12 shipping I have already incurred, I would have to pay shipping charges again.

A very disappointing first-time experience of buying a gift on line.The one bright note was that the delivery time was terrific.

planted these in early spring to surprise my neighbors. As for the reviewer who thought these might be opium poppies-- shame on you. These have nothing in common with opium poppies. I've lived overseas and these are far prettier and are actually legal. My neighbors complimented me all the time about these and were startled that these were just poppies! They've started to resprout in fall without me having to seed them myself. Easy to grow. Press them into wet, loamy soil and keep well watered until they're established.

Rose Tree St Croix Comforter Set Review

I pondered over purchasing Thomasville's La Selva pattern with a tropical leaf motiff and the Rose Tree St. Croix pattern. It was a very tough decision for me, because I love both patterns. I wound up going with Rosetree St Croix after seeing the awesome prices on Amazon for the Window Panels. I got them on sale for $47.26 for a set of 2 panels... All other online outlets featured this same product for at least $130 and up for a set of window panels.

In addition, the Comforter set in this pattern was an awesome price.I also purchased the window valances at 30% less on Amazon. I transformed my master bedroom into a tropical paradise with a plethora of greens and contrasting florals in blues and pinks. This pattern is even prettier in person.

My room is painted green like shown in the model photo for this product and looks gorgeous! Highly recommend this pattern and the material is soft cotton. Totally comfortable to snuggle up to.
